Ides of March had such a shocking ending that this was always going to be a big episode. How do you get round the fact that S4 ended with Xena and Gabrielle dying on the cross? Well here we have a heavenly battle for Xena and Gabrielle while Joxer, Amarice and Eli are trying to look after their bodies. Lots of special effects in this one with angels and devils, Callisto, and quite a few surprises too.
DISCLAIMER: Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
With Xena and Gabrielle back among the living, things should be fine, but Xena has somehow forgotten her dark past. Ares and local war god Kal and the broken chakram are all involved in this story, which sees a new outfit and weapons for Gabrielle and a new chakram for Xena!
DISCLAIMER: Xena's dark and violent past was restored during the production of this motion picture.
Xena and Gabrielle come up against a new female warrior, Mavican. She wants to take Xena's place with Ares, and so the god of war arranges a little test for them, however there is a catch - if Mavican kills Xena, she takes her place by Ares' side, if Xena kills Mavican, Xena dies!
DISCLAIMER: Ares' libido was not harmed during the production of this motion picture.
A comedy episode, where Xena's little secret is out, Gabrielle falls for a horse. Xena, Gabrielle, Joxer and Amarice also meet up with a few old friends.
DISCLAIMER: Although the rabbis died, no other animals were harmed in the production of this motion picture.
Alti is back, as are some of the Amazons for Sin Trade part 3! More spiritual battles, deerskins and some impressive CGI skeltons as Alti tries to steal Xena's baby's soul.
DISCLAIMER: Xena and Alti were bad to the bone during the production of this motion picture.
Xena, Gabrielle and Joxer go to Chin once again and come up against Lao Ma's twin daughters in The Debt part 3! Quite a few flashback clips of The Debt, as Xena must work out which daughter is the true successor to Lao Ma.
DISCLAIMER: To obtain a copy of Joxer's recipe for Moo Suu sauce and other Chinese delicacies, visit your local bookstore or look for it at the tavern.
Another great Chin episode sees the evil Green Dragon return to help the warlord Khan(Ghengis?) try to take over the world! Gabrielle gets an admirer for the first time in ages, while Xena works on her super powers.DISCLAIMER: Pao Ssu's split personality was not harmed during the production of this motion picture
Sounds like a fanfic story, but is another in the "Lucy is pregnant, what shall we do!" storylines...Aphrodite causes Xena and a young girl named Daphne to swap bodies, only doesn't get it quite right. A fun episode, although a bit close to the knuckle at times Gabrielle and Aphrodite dress up as twins Brun and Hilde and go oil wrestling!
DISCLAIMER: No pie tins were harmed in the making of Tharon's mask.
The 100th episode to be made, although it is the 99th to be broadcast, this is the one where we find out who the father of Xena's baby is! A dramatic episode featuring the death of a character and the twilight of the Greek Gods approaching, and more heartache and soul searching for Gabrielle.
A remarkable musical episode, quite different from The Bitter Suite! Xena and Gabrielle organise a musical contest to see who will win Terpsicord's lyre. Contestants include Draco, still smitten by Gabrielle and a bunch of Amazons. Joxer's brother Jace is a camp disco queen who is a real hoot, and the musical numbers are mainly well known songs rather than originals. Takes some getting used to, but a huge heap of fun!
DISCLAIMER: No Lyres were strung out during the production of this motion picture
A clip show that sees Gabrielle and Argo shrunk into mini versions of themselves after an encounter with Lacrymose, the god of despair. Pie fights galore in this frothy, fun comedy.
Xena gives birth in this one that is also notable for the return of Kevin Sorbo to the Xenaverse! However, all is not plain sailing as the gods are on the lookout for Xena's child who is said to bring about the twilight...not sure quite how.
DISCLAIMER: Zeus cashed in his chips during the production of this motion picture.
Joxer gets struck by a poisoned arrow when trying to help Xena and her child escape from more attackers out to kill the baby. While Gabrielle tries to get him to the antidote, Xena has some dream like encounters with Ares who makes her an interesting offer.
DISCLAIMER: Ares' virility was harmed during the production of this motion picture.
The Olymian gods, led by Athena, try to destroy Xena's baby, and when they take shelter in Amphipolis, she builds an army determined to kill the child. Xena is forced to consider an alliance with Ares while Gabrielle marshalls the troops of villagers. A very dramatic and action packed episode.
DISCLAIMER: Post Production was under siege during the production of this motion picture.
Gabrielle is hit on the head and falls into the sea. She somehow enters a strange parallel universe under the sea where she appears to be married to Hagar - who looks exactly like Joxer - and Gabrielle is a mermaid with three half fish children! Loosely based on the Goldie Hawn movie Overboard, this alleged comedy features very little Lucy Lawless.
Xena's daughter Eve is to be an Amazon Princess! This episode uses extensive footage from the unseen pilot show, Amazon High. The onscreen credit is for Michael Hurst. Paul Grinder, who directed the XENA bits is uncredited.
Xena and Gabrielle think about settling down with the Amazons, and Joxer gets into trouble for spying on them!
After Cleopatra receives a poison snake letter, Xena poses as her to try to flush out the killer from Mark Antony, Brutus or Octavius. While questioning Brutus and getting Gabrielle to talk to Octavius is OK, seduction is required for the handsome Antony. However, Xena knows that she must act for the good of Egypt and against conquerors from Rome...who will be left standing at the end? Fabulous drama, the usual Michael Hurst vicious action.
Wonderful tricky episode that begins with an elderly Joxer buying a scroll that is said to be Gabrielle's last ever scroll. It tells of how she and Xena tried to trick the gods to escape them as they continue to try and kill Eve. See if you guess the plot twists..
The episode that sees Xena and Gabrielle awake after a 25 year sleep - quite a shocker! Baby Eve is all grown up, but unfortunately, she is now Livia, affectionately known as "bitch of Rome"! Xena and Gabrielle are accompanied by old Joxer and his hunky son Virgil to Rome to seek out what has become of Eve. Quite a shock in store...
Livia is on the rampage, refusing to accept that she is Eve, or not caring. Xena and Gabrielle are torn between stopping her and saving her. However, the death of a friend forces things to a confrontation at a temple...will Xena be able to kill her own daughter?
The season 5 finale is another action packed angst-fest, as Eve suffers terrible guilt over her deeds as Livia. Meanwhile, Xena gets the power to kill gods, and starts bumping off the Olympians. However, when Gabrielle is visited by the Furies, the ghost of Joxer and even her daughter Hope, she is pushed into attacking Eve - leading to Xena having to stop her in a rather extreme way. Will Xena manage to save her daughter and her friend, or will Athena and the Olympians win the day? All resolved in this episode you will be glad to hear..no cliffhanger this season.
